Lady Dayan El-Ashraf ni Beaumayn
Eaglai Fissa of the Prophets' March

Sidhe Grump
Shadowblade
Dame of Caer Dae

Description

Mortal Seeming
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 140 lb.
Ethnicity: Middle Eastern
Eyes: Black
Hair: Long simple black
Clothing: Red promenade formal or blue clubwear
Comportment/Cadence: Reserved
Distinctions: While extraordinarily beautiful, one can view right away what sets Dayan apart: her eyes lack pupils and are as black as the void; this supernatural quality alone helps explain why despite the 30ish North African lady's gentrified garments, she lives as a hermit; furthermore, that odd eye color may have something to do with her blindness, though she seems to muddle about without a seeing-eye dog or even a cane
Supernatural Qualities: In addition to that slippage of her mortal Seeming, she also speaks the truth or not at all: part of the Cassandrian curse she seems to bear; furthermore, she often peers off to the side, as if with those accursed eyes she can see what no one else can
Accoutrements: Light jewelry
Traits: Appearance 5 (terrifying); Style 3; The Bard's Tongue, Slipped Seeming (2)

Fae Mien
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 140 lb.
Eyes: Black
Hair: Long simple black
Clothing: Red promenade formal or blue promenade
Comportment/Cadence: Confident
Supernatural Qualities: In her true Sidhe form, she proves quite exotic, as most associate her ethnicity with Eshu, but the connection of North Africa to House Beaumayn is long and storied; besides, despite those abyssal eyes, she more than fulfills the role of beautiful and elegant, long of leg and quick to smile, even if that smile is ironic and bemused; in addition to this vision of her true self, she also speaks the truth or not at all: part of the Cassandrian curse she seems to bear; furthermore, she often peers off to the side, as if with those accursed eyes she can see what no one else can
Accoutrements: Light jewelry, dagger
Traits: Appearance 7 (terrifying); Style 3; The Bard's Tongue

“You would like to know what I know, like to see what I have seen. But you would not believe it, any of it.”

History

Date of Birth: December 1st, 1972
Home: Tangier, Tangier-Assilah Prefecture, Morocco
Family: Numair and Amaani El-Ashraf (parents), Hamad (older brother)
Chrysalis: Personal Tragedy (born in the capital of Morocco, her family had a strong Spanish ethnic descent but cleaved to Moroccan identity, enjoying a middle-class life due her father's mercantile trade; as a lovely and popular girl, she was also often judgmental of would-be boyfriends, to the point a young man she blew off angrily struck her with his car; in addition to broken bones, broken glass got in her eyes and blinded her; this happened to be the year of the Second Resurgence, so the Beaumayn soul took over from there and helped her "miraculous" recovery), 1999
Mentor: Marcel Dumont
The Test: Trial by Influence (though now permanently blind and eerily so by the strike of Dán, Dayan remained very calm and removed herself from Tangier to France, traveling to Paris, applying to and being accepted into La Sorbonne; while attending university, she sought out other Beaumayn returned from Arcadia and underwent her Fior-Righ under their anticipating guidance; even then, Dayan knew she was destined for the greatness of prophesy and doom-saying, in part because of her low-key ability to see and interact with spirits of the dead—she just chose not to, to plead ignorance so they left her alone in turn)
Comrades: Wayne Wisetooth, Gareth Cadell, Storm Winterson, Assan Barnaby, Trinity Aston, Eleanor Kalogeron
Key Event #1: Personal Tragedy (no sooner did Dayan earn her Naming did she take up a wanderer's path, journeying across Europe especially to promote her prophecies, to warn all of the grim future; but rarely was she welcome in any court due to the message she brought, the House she membered, her odd eyes, and even her human ethnicity)
Key Event #2: Awe & Wonder (she anticipated all of that hate and fear and would have lingered to continue this mission, but she had a new vision: one of a great shadowy monster of cold banality single-handedly laying low the largest city in the world)
Key Event #3: Personal Tragedy (part of her self-imposed isolation derived from how her past haunted her present, with past lives in both Arcadia and pre-Shattering infiltrating her dreams and even poisoning her visions at times: the sins of the Beaumayn)
Key Event #4: Awe & Wonder (so, Dayan immigrated to New York City and sought audience with High King David to provide warning but she was denied; furthermore, though she kept her natural mediumship quiet, other Prodigals sought her ought and intended her harm or worse, even though her visions did include those "lost children")
Transition: Shift in Nature (she had long expected and accepted that she would walk a lonely road that even other Beaumayn would avoid, but she met an owl Pooka named Wayne who was more than willing to assist her doomsaying; with his help, she was able to begin spreading "the word" even to Prodigals)

Remembrance

Magnitude: The blind woman's memory is ancient, leading back as far as the Sundering.
Details: In every age prior the Shattering, she served the courts of the Sidhe as prophet and soothsayer; since the Shattering, she dwelled in isolation in Arcadia, pondering her final visions of the Long Winter.

Chimera

Mists of Eden
Appearance: A shisha (hookah) stylized in the Tunisian or Egyptian way: a single-pipe vase-shaped instrument made of brass, painted with ancient motifs, with a glass base
Origin: Inherent
Effects: When she smokes her hookah, it reduces the difficulty of Remembrance rolls; when she exhales its smoke directly in a target's face, it inflicts the Mists (even on other fae)
Activation: She must use only traditionally-prepared chimerical tobacco for it to function, which is often difficult to obtain

Dagger
Appearance: This simple short knife is double-edged and she keeps it in an unadorned scabbard at her waist.
Origin: Inherent

Bunk Styles

Style: Magic Realism
Examples: Herbal remedies, whispering to the spirit world, palmistry, listen to a seashell, tell a tale
