Kun Shou: Personal Tragedy (Kaede grew up in a farming village on an island not far from the Okinawan capital of Naha; while helping with the rice fields, her father also taught her the family Te, related to the Shorinryu style; in her teens, a freak tragic farming accident happened: a rice puddler jumped an unnoticed stone and broke the blades, sending one past Kaede's neck, a nearly fatal injury; she was hospitalized in Naha for trauma care and to watch for infections; she slipped in and out comas, during which time a Hou-Chi soul find its new home), 2000

Key Event #2: War (hunting for Golden Chi, Kuei-jin began to harass and stalk hsien all over the islands; she helped her court drive them off, a banner heroine of this Shadow War; but after the dust settled, key Shinma earned death-marks from bitter vampires)
Transition: Reassignment (Lord Nishida bestowed a mysterious green feather of power upon her; it tugged her to leave the island and indeed the Middle Kingdom and seek its sister-feathers across the world; combined with the lingering dangers from angry vampires, the court directed her to seek out the answers abroad, leading her to Little Asia in Kansas City, where she found the other feather-bearers, as well as the mystic artifact fan to which the feathers connected, all also martial arts masters, and together they established the Five Winds Pagoda hui t'ung in association with the chi'n ta who held the fan; she's also opened a new traditional dance school here, with a couple young talented ladies to help instruction)
