Death: Personal Tragedy (born into a middle-class family in a small town, the Hideyos immigrated to California when she was a child for her parents' occupations; there she excelled in school and made her way through med school, becoming a sharp general practitioner and ER responder; her first best job offer was for a new hospital in the Little Asia district of Kansas City; there she met a blind but handsome man named Kusuri Zen, who turned out not only to be hsien, whose supernatural interests sometimes embroiled her as at least medical support on the side, but he was also involved in the yakuza, and that association resulted in her death when a new Chinese tong tried to muscle in on his turf: she was caught in the crossfire), 2009
