“Shaolin is the heart of true martial arts.”

History

Date of Birth: June 2nd, 1980
Home: Dengfeng, Henan Province, China
Family: Gu Chin and Zhen Shu (parents)
Kun Shou: Personal Tragedy (Heng's parents were not married and simply had an unwise affair; being a poor factory worker, Shu gave the pregnancy up, and as an orphan, Heng was given over to the Shaolin Monastery; there she grew up, learning the tenets of Buddhism and mastering kung fu; however, she grew very ill one winter and before the monks could treat her, she nearly passed, and a Komuko soul took over), 1996
Mentor: Xu Zheng-Xu
The Test: Trial by Influence (though the Yü were rare anywhere in Asia, they looked after their own, and Heng was now the princess of their court; they helped her recuperate from her wounds and helped her remember who she had become; they taught her the basics of Shinma life and appointed her new, old, role within their Court of the Center of Heaven and Earth; the monks were sad to see Heng go, as she had always been a sweet girl there, but they recognized her new life among the shen)
Comrades: Vania Natharshan, Khat Kanya, Ki Bo-Ra, Nitta Kaede, Nekoko
Key Event #1: Awe & Wonder (Heng settled into court life, enjoying the privileges of royalty, but never neglecting the training and discipline of her monasteric upbringing; set up out of the ancient Songyue Pagoda on Mount Song, the temple was often a target of evil forces, and once more Yomi came to corrupt or simply destroy it, so early on she found herself appealing to other local shen, even Gui Ren, to come to help defend the site)
Key Event #2: War (the war against these demons sent by Tou Mu herself spanned years of fierce combat on the slopes of Mt. Song, during which time Heng distinguished herself as both fighter and leader, keeping coalitions of shen that generally hated each other on the same side)
Transition: Reassignment (with the mountain saved, peace settled for a time for the court, and Heng relaxed long enough that her meditations brought her visions, visions she often had to separate from repressed traumatic memories of the Yomi war; she sought out her sifu for guidance, but Lord Xu simply bestowed a mysterious yellow feather of power upon her; it tugged her to leave the island and indeed the Middle Kingdom and seek its sister-feathers across the world; with the court's blessing, the vision directed her to seek out the answers abroad, leading her to Little Asia in Kansas City, where she found the other feather-bearers, as well as the mystic artifact fan to which the feathers connected, all also martial arts masters, and together they established the Five Winds Pagoda hui t'ung in association with the chi'n ta who held the fan)

Remembrance

Magnitude: As far back as the Song Dynasty (Fourth Age)
Details: Heng recalls much of her previous lives, knowing she long ranked high among the Yü and helped guide them through the ages, through the rises and falls and rises again of Chinese civilization itself, always from the holy temples of Mount Song.
